Jigawa Allocates 8 billion Naira for Modern Iron Fabrication Workshop, Other Infrastructure Projects

The Jigawa State executive has approved over 8 billion naira to advance infrastructure, education, and healthcare, with a focus on building a state-of-the-art iron fabrication workshop in Dutse.

The Commissioner Ministry of Environment Dr Nura Ibrahim stated this to newsmen shortly after the state executive council.

He explained that the state-of-the-art workshop is designed to meet global standards, and it will cost about eight hundred- and ten-million-naira which will include a modern painting bay adding that another forty million four hundred thousand naira has been set aside for consultancy services to ensure the project is executed perfectly

Dr Nura Ibrahim noted that the initiative is aimed to equip Jigawa’s workforce with advanced technical skills, create job opportunities, and position the state as a leader in iron fabrication technologies.

Explaining further Dr Nura Ibrahim said the education sector also received a substantial boost, with two billion four hundred and ninety million naira allocated for the construction, renovation, and equipping of over 100 senior secondary schools across the state.

“Renovations will also be carried out on hostels at JSSS Karkarna and classrooms in Yankwashi LGA, while new Early Child Care classrooms and furniture will be provided to enhance learning environments” He added

In healthcare, the council allocated one billion eight hundred and forty million naira for the completion of specialist hospitals in Hadejia and Kazaure, as well as to construct a diagnostic centre in Dutse saying that the Gumel Orthopaedic Hospital will also see additional development works worth two hundred and eighty million naira.

According to Dr Nura about one billion naira was also approved for the construction of access road at the new Assembly Quarters

He also said that the council has approved eight hundred and ninety-nine million naira for renovations at the State Secretariat Complex.

Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving living conditions and ensuring sustainable development across Jigawa State. These investments are expected to drive economic growth, create jobs, and provide essential services to citizens.

This ambitious allocation underscores Jigawa’s determination to modernize its infrastructure and empower its people through strategic, forward-thinking initiatives.
